Natural cold flu remedies can make your illness last longer. Make sure to drink lots of water and not consume fruit juices. It has also been shown that green tea can reduce the time it takes to get a cold. Camellia Sinensis, the Camellia Sinensis herb, has been found to increase immunity and reduce symptoms of colds. To see how green tea works, try drinking it with honey. You might also like elderberry, Shiitake mushrooms, and Apple cider vinegar.

Apple cider vinegar

Although it is not a treatment for colds, apple cider vinegar can increase immunity and help prevent future outbreaks. It is also antibacterial and can loosen mucus. This is an obvious relief for anyone suffering from persistent cough. However, there is more research needed to back its claims. A physician should be consulted before you make any major changes in your diet. Apple cider vinegar, despite its resistance to being drunk, is a great option to other drugs.

Honey

Honey is not a new idea. In fact, humans have been using honey as a medicine for thousands of years. The Qur'an and the Bible both mention honey's medicinal benefits. Hippocrates who was a Greek physician and father to early medicine, wrote of its healing powers. Oxford University researchers reviewed the findings of 14 studies. Nine of these studies were specifically focused on children. The majority of them compared honey to conventional treatments.

In a study that involved 60 adults, this was proven to be true. An earlier study on travelers by air found that elderberry syrup could reduce illness' duration by around four days. While it isn't clear whether elderberry syrup acts as an effective antiviral treatment when taken orally it can be used to treat symptoms.

Ginger

What is the difference among a virus or a bacterium and what are their differences?

A virus is an organism microscopic that can't reproduce outside its host cells. A bacterium can be described as a single-celled organism which reproduces by splitting in two. Viruses are very small (about 20 nanometers) while bacteria are larger (up to 1 micron).

Viruses are usually spread through contact with infected bodily fluids, including saliva, urine, semen, vaginal secretions, pus, and feces. Bacteria can easily be spread from direct contact to contaminated surfaces and objects.

Viruses can enter our bodies through cuts, scrapes, bites, or other breaks in the skin. They may also enter through the nose, mouth, eyes, ears, vagina, rectum , or anus.

Bacteria may enter our bodies through cuts and scrapes on our skin, burns, insect bites, and other wounds. They may also come into our bodies through food, water, air, soil, dust, or animals.

Both bacteria as well as viruses can cause illness. Viruses cannot multiply in their host cells. They can only infect living cells and cause illness.

Bacteria can grow in their hosts and cause disease. They can also invade other parts of your body. To kill them, we must use antibiotics.

Is being cold bad for your immune system?

It's been said that there are two kinds of people in the world; those who love winter and those who hate it. It doesn't matter if you love it or not, it is possible to wonder why it makes you feel so miserable when it gets cold outside.

The truth is that our bodies are built to work best when it's warm. Hot climates are where our food sources are most plentiful, and we evolved to thrive there.

Today's environment is vastly different from the one our ancestors experienced. We spend more time indoors, are exposed to extreme temperatures (cold/heat), and eat processed food rather than fresh.

Our bodies don't have the ability to tolerate extremes. So, when we do venture outside, we often feel exhausted, sluggish, or even sick.

These effects can be reversed, however. Keep your body hydrated. You can help flush toxins out of your body by drinking plenty of water.

Another important step is to ensure that you're eating healthy meals. The best way to maintain your body's optimal temperature is by eating nutritious food. This is especially beneficial for those who spend extended periods of time inside.

Finally, consider taking a few minutes each morning to meditate. Meditation is a great way to relax your body and mind. It makes it easier for you to cope with stress and illness.
